'Brogad' Factor Failed to Shine

The tribalists who dominate this forum, especially the JLP tribalists call you a sore PNP loser. We are a tribal country so we forgive them. Do not take them seriously. I certainly don't. With the current state of our politics, the majority of Jamaicans are the losers. The PNP is now confined to the margins so we do not have to worry about them for a while so I will focus on the JLP. Despite what the labourite tribalists say on here, people like you and I, we non-tribalists are actually in the majority like you said. Refusing to join the insane party that is our politics, we too are confined to the margins. Despite the claims of there being 'a 40% drop in poverty', Jamaicans continue to vote with their feet and line up at the embassy. The majority of our young are still desperate to leave Jamaica. Why? If 'Brogad' is so great, if the JLP is so great, why do so few of us support them? The JLP is a minority party in Jamaica and a very small minority at that. There is such a cynicism such a distrust about our politics and politicians among the majority of us that in our first past the post system, third parties do not stand a chance. Unless and until the 'powers that be' who are the real controllers in Jamaica - the private sector, the church, the media, the army, the police, the bar association, etc. until these groups realise that the current situation is not sustainable in the long run, until these groups realise that they have to force the political establishment now dominated by the JLP to make the constitutional, legal and societal changes needed to make Jamaica a just society with more opportunity for all (Vision 2030), nothing will change in the short run. More about those changes needed anon. Despite Brogad's promises, the JLP has re-appointed to the cabinet the same corrupt people so ah now dem a go run wid di corruption. The return to the status quo is what the political and economic elite want in Jamaica, virus or no virus. The political elite will continue to rape the treasury along with their relatives, friends and cronies in the private sector. The rest of us can go to hell or go to the embassy. I chose the embassy. The question is, what are those who are not a part of the elite, those who can't emigrate going to choose? The answer: the gangs......We are going to become another Mexico, the Mexico of the Caribbean, a country ruled by corrupt people and gangs.....Been there. Scary place. It is my hope that there are enough people of integrity in the groups I mentioned above to make the necessary changes. If not, get a visa.
