Time to get a visa

This is just a return to the status quo. The enthusiastic support of the JEF is disappointing. This support is disappointing because if the private sector does not join with the rest of civil society to deal with the rot in our politics, what could be a time for a promising new beginning, will have been wasted. The JEF and other private sector groups seem to continue to believe in the fantasy that our existing political establishment can provide the leadership needed for our national development - despite the evidence of the last 50+ years! If the economic elite remains in this mindset, continues to fund a corrupt political establishment, then the situation is hopeless. Get ready for more crime, more police killings, more corruption. Jamaicans will continue to disengage from the corrupt political process, continue to join gangs, continue to emigrate. Pity. If you are still in Jamaica and not a part of the economic elite, if you are not a part of the political elite, if you are not a rabid tribalist, when the embassies reopen, get a visa.
